LEXINGTON Bikeway Celebration

  • The Friends of the Lexington Bikeways (FoLB) have planned an exciting afternoon of events on Sunday, October 5th, noon to 4:00pm at the Lexington Visitors Center:
  • Carolyn Siccama, author of "Rail-Trail Alphabet Adventures" will sign her children’s book and conduct two children’s bike rides from the Visitor’s Center to Parker Meadow (1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m).
  • The FoLB will have maps, a bikeway trivia quiz, bookmarks, membership information, and a rail history exhibit.
  • Local merchants have donated prizes and gift cards for a raffle being held by the Friends of Lexington Bikeways in conjunction with the Citizens for Lexington Conservation
  • Friends of the Arlington’s Great Meadow and the West Lexington Greenway will share their plans for improvements to trails in Lexington.
  • Representatives from the MBTA will be on hand with information to make your commute to work safer and easier, and the Lexington Police will have pamphlets for children and adults as well as do bike safety checks.
  • At 2:30 pm we will honor the founders of the Bikeway and receive the plaque from the Conservancy.
